*this is a job for......SCOTT*

Scott scheduled to have last week off months ago with the plan of ripping out our carpet in the frontroom and hallway and putting in hardwood. It has been a long week to say the least! Here is a look at the progress...

Scott, Ben and Nelson taking apart the fireplace (this job was not going to be done at the same time but while taking apart the base of the fireplace and removing the old wood burning stove it started to fall apart, go figure! Gotta love houses built in the 70's!!! LOL)

The finished product!!! Now Scott just needs to put our vents back in, order the wood cold air returns, put the T moldings down, attach the baseboards and finish building our new fireplace. Oh ya, and move all my furniture back in!!!!

This is to give you an idea of the time involved to do this project. Each piece of wood was as thick as my cell phone and maybe a foot long. It is REAL wood, not laminate or pergo, and each piece had to be nailed in. Scott loves to undertake big jobs like this even when he has only done hardwood two previous times! He loves to learn as he goes. What a great hubby I have!!! He is constantly trying to make our home nicer for our little family to grow in.

And here is Lilah just being cute like normal :)The room is now complete and Scott is putting on the urethane today to finish it. The biggest pain about this project was having to work around Delilah's naps to use the nail guns. It got to the point that Scott just had to keep working and if she didnt sleep she didnt sleep. On Friday Scott was going to start sanding and then applying the urethane and we decided Delilah shouldnt be home to breathe in all the sawdust and the fumes from the urethane so Delilah and I went to stay at my moms all weekend. I slept on the couch and my back is telling me I should have slept in my own bed! Delilah didnt do well Friday night and had to sleep on the floor below me with my hand on her but on Saturday night she slept in her pack and play in her own room (yes shes here enough she has her OWN room! lol). We went to sleep at home last night because I could not take one more night on a couch but then had to come back to my moms to spend the day. The urethane will be dry at about 7 tonight and I am SOOOO ready to be back at my house and let Lilah play in her room with her stuff :) Here is the other day when my little Lilah had a case of the giggles :) I love to hear her laugh!
